Beeswax can be bought either raw in chunks (sold by weight) or filtered in "bars". Our raw beeswax is very clean (we only buy top quality beeswax from beekeepers) but may contain some "bee parts" and impurities which can be easily filtered out by pouring the wax through filter cloth.

MELTING TEMPERATURE: 155°F - 160°F
This blend of vegetable oils from renewable resources creates unique candles with a crystalline finish. No additives are required (ie. mold release, polybar) and colour and scent may be added in similar quantity as paraffin wax. Cooling time will affect the crystallization of the finished surface (slow cooling will increase crystallization). Not to be used in acrylic molds (tends to stick to walls of mold making removal difficult). Most metal molds require a warming of the mold to remove the candle. Best results in silicone (rubber) molds, plastic molds, or tin molds. Larger non-metallic wicks are recommended (HTP, or RRD). Latex molds may degrade faster than normal. This product will turn a pinkish colour if heated above 190°F no matter what colour it has been dyed.

Add 5% - 30% by weight to Paraffin wax to achieve a softer, creamier container candle. Improves sidewall adhesion and reduces shrinkage. Has a slight yellowish colour so is not recommended for use in white candles.

Paraffin wax in a granulated form, also known as "sand wax" and "parasand". For use in containers, can be layered and mixed for design. This is a very quick and easy way to make great container candles. Perfect for re-filling tea-lights and votives!

Gel Wax is made from a specially selected and processed mineral oil and a gelling agent, giving it a clear, rubbery texture. Gel Wax should be melted slowly in a pot on a low heat. For less bubbles heat to 90° - 98°C (200° - 210°F). Heat to 76°-88°C (170°-190°F) for more bubbles. THIS MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES! Always use a thermometer to ensure safety and a good end product, and do not use wooden untensils to stir with (metal is recommended). Use oil based scents only, not alcohol based. Use a zinc core or predipped Wick & Tab wick - do not use cotton wick. Use approximately one size larger wick than you would in paraffin wax. Microwaving is not recommended for this product.
